My favourite body butter: Soap and Glory Butter Yourself

Hi! Today I'm introducing you guys my new favourite body butter, it's Soap and Glory Butter Yourself.

I've been a fan of this British brand since it first hit Boots in Thailand years ago. I like the playful product names, descriptions, introductions, and stuff. And of course, the quality and prices are absolutely great! Here's their website

I've tried their previous body butter, The Righteous Butter and The Daily Smooth. There's nothing wrong with them. They both smell totally amazing, non-greasy, and moisturise very well. I just want to try new stuff :P

Excuse the bad light and mess back there..

So it comes with this container, 300 ml of great body butter. The used fragrance is "Fruitigo", which has a green and fruity notes (frozen yuzu, orange oil, green fig, and jungle pomelo essence). To be honest, when I first sniffed it, I felt a bit hesitate to buy somehow. But, BIG BUT, when I really applied on skin, it smelled REALLY GOOD. It's not a sweet fragrance that can make you feel dizzy. It's a wearable fruity note with a hint of masculinity (IMO). No matter how hot or cold the weather is, this is absolutely wearable without making harm of yourself or anybody around you.

Another thing that makes Butter Yourself different from other Soap and Glory moisturisers is it contains AHA. But I guess it's a very mild AHA enough to smooth your skin since other AHA products I've used never worked for me. They're kinda too harsh darken my skin although I wear sunscreen every day..So, another but, this body butter smooths my skin very well, without darkening my skin tone a bit. Thanks! Anyway, wearing sunscreen is still suggested.

And how's the moisturising ability? I'd say it's as great as other Soap and Glory body moisturisers. Shea Butter comes as a second main ingredient as always. The texture is light and absorb into skin quickly. My home country has a tropical climate and I don't feel greasy at all.

To sum up, no con here and I'm not being paid for reviewing this goody I swear lol! You should absolutely give it a try. If you don't like it, let me know. I'd love to help you get rid of it. xD

So, have you tried? How you like it? Comment below!

More Than Just a Sunscreen: Hawaiian Tropic

There are a number of sunscreen in the market. Here, Banana Boat is very popular. I'm a kind of person who always look for something else apart from a hit. There's one retail I visit whenever I have a chance because they sale things cheaper than department stores. I discover this.

Yes, it's Hawaiian Tropic Sheer Touch Lotion Sunscreen SPF 30 PA+++

What's so special? After continuously used for 3 bottles, I can notice that it also improves my skin. My skin has become smoother and look healthy. It comes with water-resistant and non-greasy properties, which is suitable for a tropical climate here. And a bonus, it smells great, just like coconut but not too sweet to make you feel dizzy.

If SPF 30 isn't enough for you, there's also SPF 50 available. As I saw on shelf, there are sunscreen for baby and sensitive skin, facial, and tanning lotion too.

Check it out at store nearby, it's not expensive at all. I bought it for 250 THB, which equal to approximately 7 USD. Let me know if you can buy it cheaper!

Skin Resetting: CeraVe Moisturizing Cream review

As I've told you earlier, my skin type is dry. Around 2 months ago, my skin was like seriously dry like if I smile, my face would crack. If you're facing a problem of thirsty skin, meet my hero.

I'm telling you first that this product has quite heavy texture and if you have an oily skin, I suggest you to try the lotion type of CeraVe. I purchased 2 small tubes in approximately 500 Baht (30 Baht=1 Dollar and 40 Baht = 1 Euro). There is also a 16 oz. size available too.

Here are what the product claims:
  • moisturises, restores, and maintains protective skin barrier
  • controlled release (keeps your hydration level steady)
  • non-comedogenic
  • non-irritating
If you've ever tried Dermalogica Ultracalming Barrier Repair, I can say that their textures when applying onto the skin are quite similar; like there's a thin shield covering your face ( weird word choice, hope you get it). The differences are that CeraVe is much cheaper and it offers a thicker shield.

So, this cream helps me with my flaky skin very well. It's also non-comedogenic and causes no irritation as it claims.

I can say that this product is my main rescuer. Believe it or not, although I've told you its texture is quite thick and not so suitable for oily skin type, I had to apply this cream for 4-5 layers daily in order to hydrate my skin. I didn't feel greasy at all, can you imagine how badly my skin became a dessert? However, I regain my hydration back in a month, together with taking Meiji Amino Collagen and applying Kose Hyaloroncharge Moisture Lotion L.

Out of these three HG items, if you ask which one I'd pick out of these 3, I'd say this CeraVe cream. It keeps my skin hydrated and comfortable. So, let me summarise the pros and the cons for you.

Pros

- doesn't clog pores, causes no allergy (for me)
- no perfume, no alcohol; less chance for irritation
- can be used as both night and day cream, as it contains no SPF
- keep skin hydrated and improve skin condition when using regularly.

Cons

- have to be purchased via Internet only (for Thailand), and some online stores sell it overpriced.
- may be too greasy for those who have combination or oily skin tone

Will I purchase it again, yes :) Maybe I'll try the lotion type this time.

My Skin Resetting Mission

First of all, I'd like to describe my skin condition I had first. Well, I used to have a combination skin, but the overall was fine. I had pimples when going to bed late continuously, but it healed fast.

Around 1 and a half year ago, lots of cystic acne came out of nowhere. I had no idea how to deal with it, so I started to pop it out (I know it sounds really gross, but if you can imagine, it's hard not to do it). Result? Redness all over my face that I didn't need blush on at all. I did go to see doctor, but nothing went better. I stopped seeing the doctor, still no clue how to get rid of it. My mission has been started here.

I tried to hide all the scars and redness. It was wrong putting more make up to cover, since it only irritated my skin more and pores just stay clogged. However, that was when I discovered the most amazing foundation and concealer for me: Revlon PhotoReady and Cezanne Liquid Concealer.

Later on, I had tried Proactiv (I'll make a review later). It gave me a lot hope. My face was a lot better in 2 weeks. I used the kit continuously half a year. My acne had not completely cured, I still have them on my cheeks and chin, also blackheads on my nose. Believe me, it was really an awful experience. It seemed like I just couldn't do anything about it and nothing was really effective. I faced a very dry skin condition when using Proactiv, which was rescued by Physiogel Lotion in the first hand.

I started to look for something else. I tried some local brands, but none worked. Then I finally found something made for me: Mario Badescu. I'll surely write a review for products I've used, please stay tuned :)

Not only acne I had to deal with, but also dryness, scars, and skin allergy. I've already written a review about Meiji Amino Collagen, one of my helpers. If you're facing the same problems, or you just want to improve your skin condition, go check my review out!

What I do to get my hydrated, pimple free skin back I:Meiji Amino Collagen Review

Hi again! I haven't written anything lately. It's been a long time, huh? I accidentally saw my blog view statistic a moment ago, and it was like 500 views. I mean, that's quite a number for me. So, somebody did find my blog and check it out, I guess? Pleaseeee, leave me a comment so that I know I'm not alone and my posts are a little useful to someone ^^ Anyway, I've decided to update my blog more currently from now on.

OK, a product of the day is Meiji Amino Collagen. I've been taking this for 2 months now. It contains 5000 mg of fish derived collagen (said to be absorbed better than pig derived, 49 mg of vitamin C, and 28 mg of Arginine in 7 grams (one spoon), contains no sugar.

I'm sure you all have heard about collagen. Still hesitate in buying it? My suggestion is, don't be, it does worth the money!

Before I purchase this first can, I have read reviews from several websites. I've found that many Asians are impressed with it, but not many Thais do. Well, to tell you one thing, so many Thai girls want to have white skin and almost every online store claims that taking collagen will brighten up your skin tone.

Collagen has nothing to do with a skin tone. That's why there are some comments saying they're regret purchasing this. I mean it can brighten up just to the level of your original skin tone which may be darken because of sunlight or other factors. But it won't turn you into a pale, sexy, Dracula, whatever.

So what can collagen help you? My major problems were pimples, severely dry skin, rash, hypersensitive, and my make up didn't last more than 2 hours on my face. It was difficult looking at myself in the mirror. My skin was in a very bad condition. It seems like I became allergic to every single kind of base makeup in this entire world. Even mineral makeup! I was absolutely desperate, didn't know what to get rid of first; dry patches, rash, or pimples.

Then collagen pop up in my mind. I've heard about it a while ago, but didn't really believe it'd help. I read some review and decided to try it. To be honest, I believe in Japanese products good reputation. I bought my first can from Boots in a price of approximately 1,200 Baht. This can last for 28 days. The refill bag is cheaper and lasts longer ( there are 30 days and 33 days bags, but I need a container and a measuring spoon first).

I noticed the change in a couple of weeks. My body skin appeared to be smoother and dry patches on my face were a little cured, not completely, though. I take this collagen every day before bedtime, together with tomato juice. If you don't like tomato juice, replace it with any other juice that contains high level of vitamin C. The result will appear fast and better, since I'd tried mixing it with something else and found that tomato juice is the best.

I also have Keratosis Pilaris on both of my arms.
Seriously, it helps. Although it doesn't all vanish, but it does really help. I went back home last month, my mom, friends, and my boyfriend agreed that I've made a great improvement on my skin.

There are various brands of collagen in the market, you can try any you like because I believe that they'll give you similar result. But Meiji collagen is popular, affordable, and easy to find, so I think I'm gonna stick to it.

My conclusion

Pro
  • makes skin smoother
  • heals allergy, makes skin stronger
  • noticeable results
  • cures dehydration
  • brightens up your skin to the original tone

Con
  • need to be repurchased every month
  • the price is around 850-1000 Baht (30 Baht = 1 Dollar), although I find it worth the money, somebody does think it's quite pricy.

Will I buy it again? Absolutely!

This is my first episode in my skin resetting mission. If you have a question, please feel free to ask. Believe me, I've faced almost every kind of skin problem and will be really happy if I can help you out! ^^

Omi Sun Bears Super SPF 50+ PA+++ Review

Hi guys! I'm reviewing my new favorite sunscreen, Omi Sun Bears Super SPF 50+ PA+++

It contains 30ml. of the product. I bought it from a supermarket, it cost 290 Baht (about 10 US Dollars). I think it's affordable and I love its texture and performance. It contains Vitamin C, claims that it can reduce occurring chances of freckle. It has milk type texture, typical Japanese sunscreen. I've always used Japanese sunscreens my whole life, but I consider this one the best. Although I also like Sunkiller Baby Milk very much, it's kinda hard to find here. This little Sun Bears is lightweight, oil-control, and contains no alcohol.

So, here's my summary!

Pro

- affordable price
- lightweight
- oil control
- has no alcohol, so less chance for your skin to be irritated
- ***** ESPECIALLY for guys or anybody who find every sunscreen greasy and heavy, I totally recommend this product for you.

Con

- contains perfume ( if you don't mind about this, go ahead! it has fresh citrus scent)

L.A.Girl concealer review

Hi! This is my first post about cosmetics. I have tons of cosmetics, but never reviewed them. Today I'm gonna write a review about L.A.Girl HD Concealer. I have it in 972, Natural.

I purchased this concealer online, but I believe it's very easy to find in some countries, e.g. US.

This concealer has pink undertone. Fortunately, I don't have any problem using it even though I have yellow undertone. It's creamy liquid concealer which is ideal for people who have acne problem (for those who don't, it's a great product too) because it won't make any dry part of your face become flaky. And this is its applicator.

I've found that some people don't like it since it's attached to the package. However, I think it's convenient especially for traveling. Here is a swatch, the L.A.Girl concealer is on the top of my hand.

So, let's summarize this up!

Pro:

- moisturizing, creamy texture
- various tones to choose from
- cheap
- cruelty free (important, of course!)

Con:

- not available in every drugstore (in Thailand, there are few L.A.Girl counters and I know only one online store that sells this product)
- when apply, it dries quite fast. Blend quickly!
- For some people who have strong yellow undertone, it may not suit you.

That's all! What about you? Have you tried it? Share your thought! Leave comments or questions below!
